What do you search for in a physical activity? For those who like mystery and magic, the ideal is Egyptian Dance. For those that want to express themselves in a dramatic way, I indicate gypsy dance, while the hawaiian dance brings innocence, grace, and joy. With Chi-Dance I give special emphasys to energetic balance: capture the energy from the heavens and the earth, and make it flow through the meridians, chacras, tissues and cells.
The most important is that all styles strengthen the muscles, beautify the body, and have emotional and spiritual effects, because we do not dance only with the body: all our being becomes cohesive when we give ourselves to dance. The blood circulates more intensively, the brain cells create new connections, the skin becomes fairer, the eyes shine. We feel more alive and fulfilled, life becomes lighter. WHERE? Based on Taoist principles and on sacred dances, Chi–dance works the body and energy using ancestral dance techniques, Chi Kung, Aikido and meditation. It has the intent of capturing energy from earth and sky, rebalancing internal energy, and reconnecting with the chakras.
Called the “Dance of the East” in ancient Egypt, it was performed by priestesses whose objective was spiritual development. Nowadays it is known as Belly Dance, and brings to the modern woman the possibility of re-encountering her deepest connection with the essence of femininity, through the archetype of the Goddess. Amongst veils, incense and magic, the belly captures energy from the Sun, and the woman is divided in three: Body, Spirit and Serpent! It is ideal for children and teenagers, as it brings a new type of information, where the female gender is valued and respected. Energetic Level – Balances the chakras, which are centers that distribute vital energy, making this energy flow freely through the meridians, bringing cure and joy. Spiritual Level – As it is a sacred dance, with origins in the cycles of Nature, belly dance can send us to the archetypical memories of connection with the Universe. Through the re-encounter with the feminine strength, with the inner Goddess, we free ourselves of the need of being always nourished by what others can give us. Stimulating our capacity to generate, we feed off joy and happiness, and through this loving center we live better with everyone. Physical Level – Relaxes and stretches the muscles of the neck and shoulders, freeing tensions and allowing larger blood flow and energy to the brain. The brain cell connections are stimulated by the sound of the drums, which leads to the creation of endorphins, generating pleasure and rejuvenation. It strengthens the muscles of the spine, enhancing posture, strengthens the belly and genital muscles.
Gypsy Dance is a spontaneous expression, and has different characteristics depending on the country where the gypsy groups live. Whatever the style that influences it, it is a strong and passionate dance, depicting a people that is free and adventures, that live each day counting only with the unexpected. Gypsy music calls us to dance, and the bare feet in contact with the earth energy balances our basic chacra.
DANCES FOR CHILDREN
Dance is very important for children – girls and boys – because it is a playful element that helps in their development. Usually parents are only interested in classical ballet, but although it has its importance, the folkloric and ethnic dances are much more alive and significant to deal with the joy, vivacity and curiosity natural to children. COURSES: Gypsy, Samba and Hawaiian for boys and gils, Belly dance for gilrs. WHERE? Toronto - Regular Courses Workshops anywhere in the world. |
